Really, here we go again!

So life got ahold of me and I didn't start bloging as I promised. But hopefully life will slow down a bit now that it's getting colder out and I will have time for little things like this.

Update on the boys! Drake started preschool in September and is loving it. He had the best stories to tell us when we pick him up. I am just waiting for the teacher to tell me she needs to talk to me. :) With Halloween approaching we have been talking costumes a lot. At first it was Batman and of course I was going to have issac be Robin. Well now it is Transformers. That's mommy's bad for showing him the ad with all the costumes to pick from. Oh well, I guess I can't control him forever. Although, it did cross my mine to just go and buy the Batman costume and let him deal with it.:) I know I'm mean.

Onto Issac, who now has 16 teeth! Yes you heard me right, 16!!! He is getting his 4 pointy teeth (not sure what they are called) as I type this. I must say, he is not a bad teether at all! I am very lucky with this little guy. He has had a few fussy days, but for the most part he is to busy to let some teeth slow him down. Issac also started gymnastics and last night was his first class. He had a blast! He is in the same class as Elle Rucker and since Momma Rucker is about to POP, Aunti Cam helped with Elle. Jenn did her far share of running after Issac when Elle had my attention. Needless to say Jenn and I were sweating when we left gymnastics last night. But all that matters is the kids had fun!

Well that is it for now. We are heading to the pumpkin patch this weekend so I will be sure to blog and post pictures after Sunday. Love you all and take care.

Back at it!

I've been a bad Mommy and haven't posted a blog in awhile. So here you go! The boys are getting so big and learning new things every day. Drake can now ride his 2 wheeler without training wheels and Issac is saying every word you throw at him. Where have my babies gone? Talk about babies growing up, I can't believe Drake starts preschool tomorrow. :( I am happy and sad all at the same time. Just means my little man is growing up. Life is great and I couldn't ask for anything more. Hope you all are doing great too!

Thanks to everyone for making it what it was. Now that Drake is the BIG 3, now it's Issac's turn. In 3 weeks we will be doing another BIG 1 party all over again. So if you couldn't make it to Drake's, you still have another chance to make it. Invitations will be in the mail this week. Here are a couple of pics from Drake's party. Thanks you again everyone for coming!

T minus 12 days til Drake's 3rd Birthday!

For those of you who haven't RSVP'd please do so and let me know if you will be able to attend. We plan on going shopping for the food middle of next week so I will need to know before then. Thanks!

So update on the potty training...I shared the little story about Drake wanting to go potty outside at Mima's. Well it was only a matter of time before it happen. Yes, he took a terd outside on the steps. It wasn't until he came inside with it all over the place that Mima realized what was going on. I think that was the first and last time that happens. He didn't like that he got it all over his hands. LOL!!

Issac update time! He is talking up a storm. Every morning when I feed him, Tobi dog is sitting right next to us waiting for food to fall. So I always tell Issac, that's Tobi dog. So last week, he repeated it and said "Dog". I was so surprised! Then a few days later he was over at Mima and Granpy's house and when we came to pick him up he was saying "Uttt Ohhh!" Now it's his new word and he drops stuff on purpose so he can say "Utt Ohh" to everything. Drake thinks it's so funny that Issac can talk now. He says that Issac is a big boy now! :)

Happy 3rd Birthday Drake!

Boys will be Boys!

So my boys gave me two heart attacks in the last 24 hours!!! After our exciting night of Issac saying dog, Drake had a little accident. At softball he was playing around under the bleachers and bumped his head. He was crying pretty good and didn’t want me to put him down. So I walked him over to the bleachers where I was sitting with everyone and was holding him. My mom looked over to see if he had a bump and he was bleeding. He must of hit a bolt or something because it was a nice little cut on his head. He was actually really brave and let me clean it up. So that was last night. Well this morning I am sitting here at work and I get a text message, yes a text message from Ricky saying “Issac just fell out of his crib. He climbed out.” HELLO!!! You don’t text a mom and tell her that her baby just fell out of his crib. Of course I called right away and my mom was there to pick them up and she said she looked him over and he was fine. But still!!!

So that was the Harder house hold in the last 24 hours. Hopefully no more accidents for the rest of the day!!

Premature Complaints

So I started the last blog complaining about potty training. I think it had more to do with the fact that I felt like crap (btw, still feel like crap) and not the fact that Drake is one smart cookie. So we are on day 4 of potty training and the 1st day is the only 2 accidents that we have had. So far so good and he even stayed dry one whole night at Mima's this weekend.

So with potty training come stories so let's just jump right into them. Drake was at Mima's all weekend again this weekend (for some reason he doesn't want to come home). Mima was telling Drake that if they are outside and there is no bathroom around that he can just go outside in a bush. Well this all started on Friday afternoon and he tried it the minute Mima suggested it, but "it not working" so he went back to playing. One of Drake's favorite things to do at Mima's house is picking up dog poop, I don't know why, so don't ask. So after helping Mima with his favorite chore he decided he had to go potty and asked Mima if he could pee in the bush. After carefully picking which one he would water, he walked up the stairs and pee'd on the pretty flowers. A few hours later still outside playing he comes running in to ask Mima if he could poop outside in the grass. Of course Mima shot down that request and pointed him in the direction of the potty. :) So if Drake is ever over playing at your house and he drops trou to go potty, you know whose fault it is. :)

Mommy and Daddy had a fun night out this weekend to celebrate Ms.Shannon's 30th Brithday!!! So here's to you Ms.Shannon on your actual day, HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY!!!

The Journey Begins!!

So anyone that has children or grandchildren that reads this blog will completely understand where I am coming from. So I woke up this morning feeling a little under the weather (got Issac's cold) never the less I had this great idea to potty train Drake. And of course I picked a day where we were going to be gone for a good few hours running errands.

Needless to say, I feel like a broken record. Every 5 mins asking him if he needs to go to the bathroom. We get done with Sam's Club and Safeway and so far so good. We drop the groceries off at home and head to the park. As soon as we get there we go straight to the bathroom to give it a try. We get in there and I explain to him how dirty the bathroom is and NOT to touch anything. After holding the kid in the air to try to get him to go, I get an "it's not working" in response. So we exit with a talk about telling me when he has to go and we will try again. I swear 5 mins don't pass and he walks over to get his football with a wet spot going down his leg. So I asked him if he went potty, and his response is "Yep!” So we get all changed into the spare pair of clothes I brought and I tell him if he goes again we are leaving the park. Another 15 mins pass and he's back over to ask me to swing him.....................with another wet spot going down his leg. So I tell him I will push him for a few minutes and then we are leaving because he pee'd his pants. So we do just that and as we are getting loaded in the car he tells me he has to go potty!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I am about to lose my mind, but I decide since I already have Issac loaded in the car, he can wait for us to get home (right around the corner).

We arrive home and he is crying because 1 we have to leave the park and 2 he wants out of his wet clothes. But I think he needs to stay in them a little longer to learn is lesson. He comes in the door and heads straight upstairs, to do what you ask??? To go to the bathroom!!! I just don't get it. I ask every 5 mins and he won't go, I don't say a word and he goes right up and goes to the bathroom. I give up! Oh and not to mention he asks for a piece of candy I told him he gets if he goes to the bathroom. Do I give it to him? He just went twice in his pants at the park? But went when we got home. Needless to say I am spending the rest of the day on the Internet reading up on potty training tips.

Now it is several hours later and he's in taking a nap with his underwear on and I am dreading what I will find when he wakes up. I guess part of potty training is doing a lot of laundry!

So anyone that has any potty training pointers, send them my way!

My little man is going to school!

I told you guys I would be on here as much as possible and here I am. So thought I would share some exciting news we got yesterday. Starting September Drake will be going to Pre-School!!! I can't believe how fast he has grown up. He will be going to Fun Factory with the City of Folsom two days a week. I am so excited for him to get to learn all the stuff mom doesn't think to teach him. Don't get me wrong, the kid isn't lacking any education my any means. If you know Drake and have spent a few hours around him you know that he talks like a 5 year old, not a 3 year old.

And for those of you far away and that don't get the joy of Drake in your life let me share a few of his conversations with you. Most of these take place in the car while we are driving from place to place (because we know the Harder Family never sits still).

Conversation #1
Drake: Mommy, did you know that store over there sells batteries? (We were driving pass Kragen Auto parts on our way to Grandma's house)
Mommy: Oh yah!
Drake: Yah, want to know how I know that?
Mommy: Sure Bear.
Drake: Because there is a battery on the sign in the window!
Mommy: Speechless!

Conversation #2
Drake: Mommy, did you know the moon went down?
Mommy: You're right Drake. How did you know that?
Drake: Because the sun came up!
Mommy: That's right Bear Bear! (Are you freaking kidding me right now?)
Drake: The sky changed colors, that's how I knew that!
Mommy: Again, Speechless!

Conversation #3
Drake: Daddy I want some string cheese please.
Daddy: Here Bear, you can have the rest of mine.
Drake: No Daddy, I want my own.
Daddy: There's no more left, we have to get some more.
Drake: Okay, then get me the square one please.
Mommy: Babe, did you teach him his shapes??? How in the heck did he know that???

These are just few examples of my smarty pants. If you ever want to get him going, ask him about going to the moon. He has good stories about that!

My oh My how they grow!!!

So Issac has started to cut tooth #8 and is taking about 4 steps on his own. Now put his walking car infront of him and he will not sit still. I am very worried about the wild man he will become once he is FULLY walking on his own. But for now we have him caged in a play area in the living room. As bad as that sounds it's really not and I do have pictures to prove it.

We are quickly approaching Brithday #3 for Mr.Drake and Birthday #1 for Baby Issac. So keep a watch on your mail box for birthday invites (we know it's just an excuse for the Harder's to throw a BIG Party).

My cute boys!

Issac just liked the ice cream Mom was feeding him. :)
